Glycerol esters of thiobenzoic O-acid and thioglycerol esters of benzoic acid

Abstract

The preparation and properties of some thio-analogues of glycerol tribenzoate are reported. The isomerisation of glycerol thiobenzoates to thioglycerol benzoates is discussed. The thiobenzoyl group emerges as a versatile functional group of potential value for synthesis and in structure elucidation.
