Thermodynamic studies of some anion-exchange equilibria. Part 2.—Modified treatment for determination of standard free energy change of uni-bivalent and uni-tervalent exchange processes

Abstract

A modification of the previous statistical thermodynamic approach, has yielded a relationship expressed directly in terms of the equivalent ionic fractions in the resin phase. This gives an equally satisfactory interpretation of the experimental data, is applicable to cation- and anion-exchange systems, and can be extended to give a treatment of uni-tervalent exchange processes.
