Heterocyclic rearrangements. Part VIII. Attempted intramolecular oxygen-transfer in chlorofurazanobenzofuroxans

Abstract

The preparation is described of 6- and 7-chlorofurazanobenzofuroxan. Each exists as a mixture of two tautomeric forms at room temperature and these were identified by n.m.r. spectroscopy. Attempts to interconvert the two isomers thermally were unsuccessful.
