Rhenium trioxide nitrate
Abstract
Rhenium trioxide nitrate, ReO3NO3, is prepared by the action of dinitrogen pentoxide on rhenium trioxide chloride; ReO3Cl + N2O5→ ReO3NO3+ NO2Cl. The infrared spectrum, mass spectrum, thermal stability, X-ray powder pattern and some chemical properties of the nitrate are discussed. The reaction between rhenium heptoxide and dinitrogen pentoxide gives the same product but is incomplete.
