The magnetic moments of some nickel ethylenediamine complexes

Abstract

The variations of magnetic moment with temperature have been measured for two nickel ethylenediamine complexes, viz., the magnetically dilute double salt [Ni en3](SeCN)2KSeCN and the dimeric [Ni2en4Cl2]Cl2. In the former the slight variation of moment with temperature is due to t.i.p., whilst for the latter compound t.i.p. partially masks a larger variation of moment with temperature which is probably due to interaction between the nickel atoms in the dimeric species.
