Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in some aromatic compounds

Abstract

The spin-lattice relaxation times of the protons in some simple aromatic compounds have been measured as a function of their concentration in solution in carbon disulphide. The observed dependences are explained in terms of the translational and rotational motions of the different parts of the molecules, and values calculated from molecular parameters and the bulk viscosity of the solutions are compared with those found experimentally.
