Orthophosphato-complexes of the vanadyl(IV) ion in aqueous acidic solution. Part I. Ion-exchange studies
Abstract
Complex formation in aqueous acidic vanadyl(IV) phosphate solutions has been studied by ion-exchange methods and may be represented by the equations VO2++ H2PO4–= VOHPO4+ H+, VOHPO4+ H2PO4–= HVO(HPO4)2–, HVO(HPO4)2–= VO(HPO4)22–+ H+.
A method is described by which the formula of a labile complex anion may be established from changes in ion concentrations observed in the solution phase when it is brought to equilibrium with anion-exchange resin.
