Preparation and properties of bistrifluoromethylamino-mercurials and iodobistrifluoromethylamine

Abstract

In contrast to the corresponding phosphorus halides, N-bromo- or N-chloro-bistrifluoromethylamine react with the symmetrical mercurials, R2Hg (R = CH3 or SCF3) to give the mixed mercury derivatives, (CF3)2NHgR. Some reactions of the mixed mercurials with halogen-containing compounds have been investigated, leading to the preparation of the new compound N-iodobistrifluoromethylamine.
