Some metal halide complexes of 1,2,5-triphenylphosphole

Abstract

The new complexes MX2,2TPP(M = Pd or Pt; X = Cl or Br), HgX2,TPP(X = Cl or Br), and RhCl3,TPP have been prepared by the reaction of 1,2,5-triphenylphosphole with the appropriate metal halides. The infrared spectra of the complexes and the free ligand have been recorded in the 4000–200 cm.–1 region and the metal–halogen sketching vibrations assigned.
