Programmable assembly/disassembly of metal–organic cage integrated 2D nanosheets

Abstract

This work demonstrates a stepwise assembly process to prepare [Pd(Pd2L4)]n-type 2D nanosheets using Pd(II) and a stoichiometry-controlled metal–organic cage of Pd2L4 type. A convenient design strategy for dynamic interconversion between cage-based 2D nanosheets and well-defined monomeric cages is achieved.
