Retraction of ‘Development of EGFR-targeted evodiamine nanoparticles for the treatment of colorectal cancer’ by Chunpu Li et al., Biomater. Sci., 2019, 7, 3627–3639, https://doi.org/10.1039/C9BM00613C.
In Fig. 8, the intestinal BL1 mouse image in Fig. 8a and the top left mouse image in Fig. 8b of the published article (intestinal FITC-GE11-Evo-NPs BLI 1h) are identical to each other and to an image in another paper by the authors,1 specifically the EpCAM-TSIIA-NPs 32 h image in Fig. 5b of ref. 1.
In Fig. 6A, the Ge11-Evo-NPs image overlaps with the EpCAM-TSIIA-NPs image in Fig. 6E of ref. 1.
In Fig. 9a, the left mouse in the GE11 panel is identical to the left mouse in the C225 panel.
In Fig. 10a, the 2W, 3W and 4W mice in the Evo panel are identical.
An independent expert has raised concerns regarding the size of the error bars in Fig. 2 and 7 and the authors have not been able to address this.
Given the number and significance of the concerns about the validity of the data, the findings presented in this paper are no longer reliable.
The authors were informed about the retraction of the article. Jianfeng Cai has agreed with the decision, and the other authors have not responded.
