Interior aliphatic C–H bond activation on iron(ii) N-confused porphyrin through synergistic nitric oxide binding and iron oxidation

Abstract

Iron oxidation, in conjunction with NO coordination, achieved a C–H bond activation to convert [FeII(HCTPPCH3)Br] into [Fe(HCTPPCH2)(NO)](BF4) at ambient temperature. The structural data and theoretical calculations confirmed the role of nitric oxide behaving as a π-accepting ligand to assist the C–H bond activation.
