Abstract

Reactions of aromatic imines with the putative butatrienylidene–ruthenium cation [Ru(C[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]CH2)(PPh3)2 - (η-C5H5)]+ gives complexes containing either 4-ethynylquinoline or 1-azabuta-1,3-diene ligands; the molecular structures of [Ru(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC9H4MeN)(PPh3)2 (η-C5H5)] and [Ru{C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CC(CH[double bond, length as m-dash]CHPh)[double bond, length as m-dash]N(C6H4N O2-3)}(PPh3)2(η-C5H 5)] are reported.
