Complex formation between 1,1′-(1,4,10,13-tetraoxa-7,16-diazacyclooctadecane-7,16-dicarbonyl)ferrocene and yttrium perchlorate

Abstract

Multinuclear NMR and X-ray crystallography have revealed that the complex formed between yttrium perchlorate, 1,1′-(1,4,10,13-tetraoxa-7,16-diazacyclooctadecane-7,16-dicarbonyl)ferrocene (L) and water has a 1 : 2 : 1 stoichiometry (Y3+ :cryptand: H2O) and confirmed that in complexes of this kind the amide carbonyl groups act as ligands and adopt the cis configuration within the cryptate.
