Characterisation of the E 1B1(3da1 1b1) Rydberg state of water by resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionisation (MPI) spectroscopy

Abstract

The title state of H2O (D2O) has been observed as a three-photon resonance in the MPI spectra of these molecules. Rotational analysis has yielded spectroscopic parameters for the respective [graphic omitted] 1B1 states and shown them to predissociate with a rotational level dependent efficiency.
