Dehydrogenation of cyclic and bicyclic secondary alkyl peroxides during flash vacuum pyrolysis

Abstract

Dehydrogenation to the corresponding diketone occurs to the extent of 16% and 42% respectively in the flash vacuum pyrolysis of 3,6-dimethyl-1,2-dioxacyclo-hexane and 2,3-dioxabicyclo[2.2.2]octane, but is unimportant in similar pyrolyses of 3,5-dimethyl-1,2-dioxacyclopentane and 2,3-dioxabicyclo [2.2.1] heptane.
