Electric conductivity of nitrate inclusion complexes of A and X zeolites

Abstract

In the course of an investigation of the effect of a molten salt inclusion complex on the conductivity of zeolites A and X it was found that the inclusion of the salt leads to an increase in ionic conductivity. The role of the included ion pair in this, on the basis of metal–nitrate interaction and the interaction with the oxygen framework of the zeolite, is explained. The general mobility of cations in inclusion complexes increases. The entropy of activation indicates that inclusion of silver nitrate and alkali nitrates leads to disordered cation phase formation.
