Carbonyl insertion at chloro(alkyl or aryl)(methyldiphenylphosphine)-carbonylplatinum: critical effects of stereochemistry and the nature of the alkyl or aryl group

Abstract

The chloride-bridged acyl complexes [Pt2(µ-Cl)2(COR)2(PMePh2)2] equilibrate with one isomer of [PtClR(CO)(PMePh2)] in solution, and the equilibrium position is critically dependent on the nature of R.
