Use of induced 13C–13C coupling in terpenoid biosynthesis

Abstract

The coupling pattern of the sesquiterpenoid, dihydrobotrydial (3), biosynthetically multiply labelled from [1-13C]acetate, has been used to define the folding of farnesyl pyrophosphate as (2) during its biosynthesis.
