Transformations of imidazo- and pyrimido-pyrimidines into pyrazoles
Abstract
7-Substituted amino-2,3-dihydro-5-methyl-6-nitroimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidines and similar pyrimido-pyrimidines are very readily cleaved by hydrazine and substituted hydrazines to give a wide range of highly substituted pyrazoles; isoxazoles similarly result from cleavage by hydroxylamine.
