Nuclear magnetic double resonance studies of organotin selenides

Abstract

1 H, 13C, 77Se, and 119Sn chemical shifts, and the signs and magnitudes of coupling constants involving these nuclei, have been measured by nuclear magnetic double resonance techniques in the series Me4–n(SeR)n(n= 1–4, R = Me or Ph). The results are interpreted mainly on the basis of inductive electron withdrawal from the tin atom by the electronegative RSe–groups.
