Resonance line broadening due to chemical exchange and quadrupole-induced relaxation in the nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of some boron–nitrogen adducts
Abstract
Quadrupolar induced relaxation and intermolecular exchange of AX molecules (where X is a quadrupolar nucleus and A contains six magnetically equivalent protons coupled to X) and of an AX molecule with an A molecule are illustrated. The rates and mechanism of exchange of some tertiary amine adducts of boron trichloride have been deduced from their temperature-dependent 1H and 11B n.m.r. spectra.
