Reactions of co-ordinated ligands: amide formation from reactions of isocyanates with β-ketoimine complexes

Abstract

Several organic isocyanates, R–N[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O, have been found to undergo simple, quantitative, stepwise addition at the methine positions of CuII and NiIIβ-ketoimine complexes, to produce amides.
