Synthesis and X-ray crystallographic characterization of [Et4N]2[W2(CO)8H2] including the direct location and the refinement of the two bridging hydride ligands

Abstract

The new complex [Et4N]2[W(CO)8H2] has been synthesized and its structure determined by an X-ray structural analysis; all atoms have been located (including hydrogens), the two W–H–W linkages being equivalent and symmetrical, with d(W–H)= 1·85(7)Å; ∠(W-H–W′)= 110(6)°, and ∠(H–W–H′)= 70(6)°.
