Dibenzyl(12CH213CH2) sulphoxide — an example of optical activity due to isotopic dissymmetry of carbon
Abstract
(R)-Dibenzyl sulphoxide (Ph12CH2SO13CH2Ph),[α]280=+ 0·71, has been obtained by treatment of (R)-(+)-menthyl toluene-w-sulphinate with Ph13CH2MgCl and converted into the enantiomer by O-alkylation and hydrolysis.
