Vacuum ultraviolet spectra of transient molecules and radicals. Part 3.—HSe and HTe

Abstract

Vacuum ultraviolet spectra of the transient diatomic species HSe and HTe have been observed following the isothermal flash photolysis of H2Se and H2Te respectively. Rydberg series leading to the first ionization potential support the values I.P.(HSe)= 9.8 eV; I.P.(HTe)= 9.1 eV.
