The crystal structure of syn-9-benzonorbornenyl p-bromobenzenesulphonate
Abstract
The structure of syn-9-benzonorbornenyl p-bromobenzenesulphonate, C17H15BrO3S, has been determined by a three-dimensional X-ray analysis. The crystals are monoclinic, a= 11·95, b= 6·28, c= 24·02 Å, β= 120° 40′, Z= 4, space group P21/c. The intensities were measured with a Hilger and Watts linear diffractometer using Mo-Kα radiation. The structure was solved by the heavy-atom method and refined by a full-matrix least-squares method. The final R-factor was 0·091 for the 1614 independent observed reflexions.
