Determination of gypsum in solonetzic soils by an X-ray technique

Abstract

Gypsum in soils containing large amounts of sodium sulphate has been determined satisfactorily by an X-ray technique. Potassium chloride is used as an internal standard. Ratios of counts on diffraction peaks of maximum intensity for gypsum and potassium chloride are used for the quantitative determination of gypsum in soil.
