Chemistry of nitramines. Part II. Some reactions of 1-acetoxy-methyl-3,5-dinitro-1,3,5-triazacyclohexane and 1-acetoxymethyl-3,5,7-trinitro-1,3,5,7-tetra-azacyclo-octane

Abstract

Reactions of 1-acetoxymethyl-3,5-dinitro-1,3,5-triazacyclohexane and 1-acetoxymethyl-3,5,7-trinitro-1,3,5,7-tetra-azacyclo-octane with alcohols lead to alkoxymethyl derivatives of dinitrotriazacyclohexane. In the presence of ethylenedinitramine, products derived from dinitrotriazacycloheptane are formed. Similar reactions involving methylnitramine and trimethylenedinitramine have been studied, and nitrolysis and nitrosative cleavage of the acetates are described briefly.
