The formation of sulphur-bridged manganese and rhenium clusters via organotin intermediates

Abstract

The reactions of various alkyl- and aryl-thio-derivatives of tin with manganese and rhenium pentacarbonyl halides have given rise to the trimeric species [M(CO)3SR]3, M = Mn or Re. The properties, structure, and mechanism of formation of these compounds are discussed.
