Borazoles. Part III. Some reactions of tri-N-alkylborazoles with Grignard reagents

Abstract

The reactions of Grignard reagents with tri-B-chlorotri-N-isopropylborazole and with four tri-N-alkylborazoles having branched alkyl groups have been studied, and methods for the preparation of some mono-, di-, and tri-B-substituted derivatives are described. Stepwise substitution of tri-N-isopropyl- and tri-N-s-butyl-borazoles occurs. The reactions were followed by gas–liquid chromatography. The infrared spectra of many of the compounds have been measured.
