Efficient electrocatalytic oxidation of p-phenylenediamine using a novel PANI/ZnO anchored bio-reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite†
Abstract
Herein, a novel approach was reported for the fabrication of a polyaniline/ZnO-anchored bio-reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite via in situ chemical polymerization of aniline doped with bio-reduced GO and ZnO through π–π interaction and electrostatic interaction. The structure elucidation was carried out using FTIR spectroscopy, XRD, and Raman and XPS spectroscopy and morphological characterizations were performed using SEM and HR-TEM. The electrochemical behaviour was investigated using cyclic voltammetry and further, electrocatalytic oxidation of ‘p-phenylenediamine’ was successfully recorded using differential pulse voltammetry.
