Halogenosilanes. Part III. Fluoro-, chloro-, and bromo-derivatives of trisilane

Abstract

The halogenotrisilanes SiH3·SiH2·SiHF2, SiH3·SiH2·SiF3, SiH3·SiHCl·SiH3, SiH2Cl·SiH2·SiH2Cl, SiH3·SiH2·SiCl3, SiHCl2·SiH2·SiHCl2, SiH3·SiH2·SiH2Br and possibly SiH3·SiHBr·SiH3 and SiH3·SiH2·SiH2F have been characterised by n.m.r. spectroscopy. Where possible, alternative preparative routes, vibrational spectra, and mass spectra provided additional support for the identification.
