Halogenosilanes. Part II. Electrical discharge production of halogenodisilanes

Abstract

Numerous halogenodisilanes are identified as products of the action of an ozoniser-type silent-electric discharge on fluoro-, chloro, and bromo-monosilanes. The halogenodisilanes are mainly characterized by n.m.r. spectroscopy. The chloro- and bromo-derivatives give first-order spectra but SiH2F·SiH2F and SiHF2·SiHF2, give complex 1H and 19F n.m.r. spectra.
