A ‘direct’ relationship between ETi–L bond angle and TiE bond length can exist in [Ti(E)L4] complexes (E = organoimido or oxo)
Abstract
Evidence for a ‘direct’ relationship between ETi–L bond angle and TiE bond length in five-coordinate complexes [Ti(E) L4](E = organoimido or oxo) is presented and is supported by extended-Hückel molecular orbital calculations; the crystal structure of [Ti(tmtaa)(NC6H3Me2-2,6)] is described (H2tmtaa = tetramethyldibenzotetraaza[14]annulene).
