Diastereoselectivity in chiral (arene)tricarbonylchromium homobenzylic alcohol complexes: asymmetric synthesis of dihydroisocoumarins

Abstract

Enantiomerically pure (arene)tricarbonylchromium complexes of homobenzylic ketones 3 undergo stereoselective reduction to give the corresponding alcohols, which may be transformed readily into enantiomerically pure dihydroisocoumarins.
