Electrochemical study of solvent extraction with quinolin-8-ol as complexing agent. Part 2. Mechanism of electrochemical extraction of cadmium and some other divalent metals ions
Abstract
The faradaic transfer behaviour of the charged species formed in the system of Cd2+ and some other divalent metal ions extracted by 1,2-dichloroethane with quinolin-8-ol (HQ) as complexing agent was examined electrochemically. It follows from the experimental findings that after the HQ distributes from the organic into the aqueous phase, M(HQ)22+ and neutral species are formed there and the former is involved in the faradaic transfer process from the aqueous to the organic phase.
