A simple, efficient, and environmentally friendly strategy for preparing P(VDF–TrFE) with double bonds

Abstract

P(VDF–TrFE) with a C[double bond, length as m-dash]C double bond (P(VDF–TrFE-DB)) is reactive and important for elastic ferroelectrics preparation. However, the existing strategies for introducing C[double bond, length as m-dash]C bonds in P(VDF–TrFE) are rigorous, complex, and inefficient. Here, we propose a one-step NaOH(aq) treatment to eliminate hydrogen fluoride (HF), generating double bonds in the mainchain, which is a simple, efficient and environmentally friendly strategy, and can control the C[double bond, length as m-dash]C bond content in P(VDF–TrFE).
