In situ fluorescence visualizing of a temperature-dependent photoreaction process of pyridazine N-oxide

Abstract

The real-time and in situ monitoring of reaction processes is of great significance for precise control of organic reaction processes. Herein, a fluorescence method was proposed to track the photochemical reaction processes of a photo-active pyridazine N-oxide derivative (MPD-O) in real time and in situ. Under UV light irradiation, MPD-O underwent different reaction processes to produce a pyrazole derivative (MPZ) or a trans-butene-1,4-dione derivative (trans-MDO) at different temperatures that were successfully monitored using photoluminescence (PL) spectra. Additionally, we proposed an underlying reaction mechanism which was further elucidated by theoretical calculations. This work provides an efficient method for real-time and in situ monitoring photochemical reaction processes.
