A hollow cage-like layered double hydroxide-modified carbon paste electrode as an efficient catalyst for electrochemical water oxidation in neutral media

Abstract

We fabricated a hollow cage-like layered double hydroxide modified carbon paste electrode (Ni1Co4-LDH/C) as an efficient catalyst for electrochemical water oxidation in neutral media. Reaction kinetics studies indicate that Ni1Co4-LDH/C can provide high water oxidation performance, mainly due to the small charge transfer resistance, and a high number of catalytic active sites.
