Direct difunctional carbonylation of terminal alkynes with sodium sulfinates to access olefin sulfonyl methyl esters under metal-free conditions

Abstract

A metal-free difunctional carbonylation procedure toward the synthesis of olefin sulfonyl methyl esters has been developed. By employing easily available terminal alkynes and sodium sulfinates as the starting materials, a broad range of olefin sulfonyl methyl esters were synthesized in moderate to good yields via radical intermediates.
