Abstract

A photocatalytic decarboxylative/defluorinative [4 + 3] annulation of o-hydroxyphenylacetic acids and trifluoromethyl alkenes was developed. The reaction affords fluorinated dihydrobenzoxepines via two consecutive C–F substitutions in a CF3 group.
