Channelled crystals formed by tubular stacking of a 4 + 4 phenylene-piperazinemacrocycle

Abstract

The 4 + 4 macrocycle {CH2C6H4CH2N(CH2CH2)2N}4 with alternating para-phenylene and piperazine groups linked by methylene spacers adopts tubular stacking in the crystal with 36% solvent-filled volume.
