Solution-phase synthesis of Au fibers using rod-shaped micelles as shape directing agents

Abstract

Au fibers with micron-scale lengths have been successfully prepared via a solution-phase synthetic method. Solubilization of salicylate ion into an aqueous CTAB solution forms rod-shaped micelles and becomes a key shape directing factor to generate one-dimensional Au structures.
