Scandium, yttrium, the lanthanides and the actinides

Abstract

Much important uranium chemistry is reported, often of great interest. Notable is the work of Ephritikhine and co-workers, especially comparing lanthanide and actinide compounds of the same ligand, and highlights from Andersen’s group include the molecular [(η5-1,2,4-(But)3C5H2)2U = O]. The outstanding work, both in quality and quantity, has come from the laboratories of W. J. Evans. This includes more on [(C5Me5)3UMe] and [(C5Me5)3UCl], the role of cationic species like [(C5Me5)2U][(μ-Ph)2BPh2] in synthesis, and the remarkable benzene-bridged compound [(C5Me5)2U]2-η66-C6H6)].
