Noble metals

Abstract

The chapter reviews the literature reported during 2005 on the noble metals (Ru, Os, Rh, Ir, Pd, Pt, Ag and Au). Attention is drawn in particular to an unprecedented η3-Au3 coordination mode in a terpyridine ligand (Chem. Commun., 2005, 3355), a new blue luminescent cyclometallated iridium N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) species (Inorg. Chem., 2005, 44, 7992), a triple-decker mixed metal rhodium sandwhich complexes isolated from a B-phenylborole (Eur. J. Inorg. Chem., 2005, 1737) and a remarkable diamidorhodate (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2005, 44, 6325).
