Direct propargylation of furan and arene by propargylic alcohols promoted by bisoxazoline–ruthenium catalysts

Abstract

The mononuclear [(arene)(bisoxazoline)ruthenium(II) (NCMe)][(BF4)2] complex 4 characterised by X-ray crystallography is a catalyst precursor for the propargylation of methylfuran and 1,3-dimethoxybenzene directly with propargyl alcohols incorporating terminal or internal alkyne bonds.
