Preparation of cationic cobalt phenoxide and ethoxide complexes and their reversible reaction with carbon dioxide

Abstract

The complexes [Co(TCT)(OR)]BPh4 (R = Et, Ph; TCT = cis,cis-1,3,5-tris(cinnamylideneamino)cyclohexane) have been prepared and characterised by X-ray diffraction; in coordinating solvents both complexes react reversibly with carbon dioxide to form organocarbonate complexes.
