Selective and rapid oxidation of primary, allylic and benzylic alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds with NaNO2–acetic anhydride under mild and solvent-free conditions

Abstract

Various primary, benzylic and allylic alcohols undergo selective and rapid oxidation to the corresponding carbonyl compounds using NaNO2–acetic anhydride as a novel oxidant under mild and solvent free conditions.
