Mononuclear gold(I) complex of a chiral tetra(tertiary phosphine). Crystal and molecular structure of [T-4-(RP*,RP*)]-(±)-1,2-bis[(2-diphenylphosphinophenyl)methylphosphino]benzene-P,P′,P′′,P′′′gold(I) hexafluorophosphate

Abstract

A mononuclear tetra(tertiary phosphine)gold(I) complex has been isolated via the reaction of (RP*,RP*)-1,2-bis[(2-dimethylphosphinophenyl)methylphosphino]benzene, (RP*,RP*)-TPP4, with NBun4[AuI2] in ethanol followed by metathesis with aqueous NH4PF6; as confirmed by a crystal structure determination of [Au{(RP*,RP*)-TPP4}]PF6.
